It was fun.  More to come....

Nani 2: The Barkening

A quick study of my bulldog.
I'm getting a bit faster and I think this loose style works
-considering the subject is a sloppy mess.
The body and legs need a bit more work.
Dogs aren't supposed to have hooves.
About 1/5 scale.

Lilit: State 4

Yesterday I accidentally smashed her face.
I spent last night redoing what I had already done.
Fun stuff.
I figure a couple more hours and she'll be as done as she's ever going to be.
MUST. TAME. HAIR.

Evolution of the baby bust.

Someone told me that sculpting a baby head
is the single most difficult subject to sculpt.

I concur.

The Girls Are Cast

I've had these three back from the foundry for a while now, but I was wanted to mount them on their bases before posting any pictures. Since I haven't decided on a base, I figured I might as well show them in their current state...

I'm partial to the bulldog, but then again,
my own bully was the model.
Next up, mounting.

It Begins...

So, I started sculpting. I figure I might as well document my progress. Currently I'm finishing a trilogy of dogs. They just got back from the foundry but here's how they looked when they were lumps of clay...
Daisy
Kelly
Nani

I'll post images of the girls in their bronze form in a bit. Questions comments and critiques are welcome.
